The development of cooperatives, as stated by Tulus Tambunan from the center for industrial and SME studies (www.ikadin-indonesia.or.id) in Indonesia is progressing rapidly, this certainly supports economic development in society. Therefore, the Government continues to support the development of cooperatives and is expected to play an important role in achieving the success of national development in the economic sector, both in the formal and informal sectors. Cooperative is a form of business that is social based on togetherness to improve the welfare of members and society. Indonesian cooperatives are a collection of people, not a collection of capital so that profits are not the main target in managing cooperatives, the benefits received by members take precedence over profits. Cooperative membership is voluntary and based on common interests as economic actors. The success of cooperatives lies in the participation of members (Mahri, 2004) so that it can be said that member participation is the strength to build advanced and prosperous cooperatives.
